Gary Eugene Guinn, 73, of Flora, passed away at 1:11 am, Sunday, May 14, 2023 at the Clay County Hospital in Flora, Illinois.
Gary was born in Clay County, Illinois on June 18, 1949 the son of Francis E. and Beulah Althea (Young) Guinn. Gary served his county honorably in the US Navy from 1969 to 1971 during the Vietnam era, and then was in the reserves for a time following his active duty. Gary worked as a truck driver and retired from that. In his youth we had attended the Oak Street Baptist Church in Flora. Some of Garys activities in life was he loved to go fishing, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and watching old westerns on TV. He loved to go out and eat and talking on the phone with his friends, and he loved his family and grandson dearly. He loved to talk and go fishing with his best friend, Montie Persinger, they either did something or talked on the phone with each other every day.
