Joy D. Wood, 81, of Bible Grove passed away at 5:11 pm, Sunday, July 16, 2023 at the Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham, Illinois with her loving son at her side.
Joy was born on September 5, 1941 in Clay County, Illinois the daughter of Vernon and Carrie (Anderson) Payne. She married John M. Wood on March 29, 1969 at the Sailor Springs Christian Church and they shared 20 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on November 15, 1989.
In her professional life, Joy made a significant impact through her dedicated work for the ASCS office in Louisville for many years. She also found joy in being a homemaker and took pride in caring for her family. Later in her career, she worked for the Country Insurance Agency in Louisville.
