Helen Joyce Stockwell, age 85, of Wheeler, Illinois passed away at Friday, October 27, 2023 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois, surrounded by her loved ones.
Joyce was born on October 18, 1938 in Clay County, Illinois the daughter of Harold and Marguerite (O'Dell) Hostettler. She married Buddy Stockwell on June 3, 1956 at the Hoosier Prairie Baptist Church, Louisville, Illinois, and they shared 46 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on March 1, 2001.
Joyce treasured the time spent with her loved ones, especially family dinners. A great cook, she enjoyed preparing meals for her family and her home was always filled with the delicious aromas. Joyce was also known for her skills in sewing, gardening, and canning. Her love, guidance, and support will be deeply missed but will continue to inspire and comfort her loved ones. She was a member of the Hoosier Prairie Baptist Church for 74 years.
