Barbara Sue Clifton, 72, of Louisville, Illinois passed away peacefully at 8:27 am, Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at her home with her loving family by her side.
Barbara was born on May 19, 1951 in Flora, Illinois the daughter of Vernon and Allene (Colclasure) Wendling. She married Robert "Terry" Clifton on June 27, 1970 at the St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Louisville and they shared 53 years of marriage.
Barb's academic pursuit culminated in a Master's Degree in Education, which she put it to use in the North Clay School District. Her deep commitment to learning shone brightly in her role as a Reading Recovery teacher for 1st grade students. Barb's gentle guidance opened the world of words to countless young minds, fostering a love for reading that her students would carry with them long after leaving her classroom.
